Eclipse Office will use the latest eclipse technologies like model driven development to achieve a far better office, which will enable collaboration, web-enablement. It uses as much as possible existing open source libraries like Apache POI.
Export and Imports will be based on XML Transformation. Actually the project is in a very early stage.
